Sitting at home with one of my paintings. I moved in December 2020. I’m enjoying being outside of San Francisco (but close) and eager to see how my work changes in a quieter environment.

I make what I make. It comes out of a moment in time. It is generated by mood, stillness, intensity, frustration, calm, playfulness and any other adjective that seems fitting at the moment.
I create art that generates, for me, a feeling of wonder and awe and most of the time as representative of something beautiful. Works vary in style but are recognizable as mine.
I am influenced by other artists and painters and that may generate a new body of work based on this influence.
Art is not precious but appreciated for its significance as a new creation, as organic, a moment in time not to be matched by any other moment in time.

Selected as part of a group show at Gearbox Gallery that explored the theme Walking the Line, inspired by the Johnny Cash song, “I keep a close watch on this heart of mine. I keep my eyes wide open all the time. I keep the ends out for the tie that binds. Because you’re mine, I walk the line.”

To walk-the-line is to maintain an intermediate position between contrasting choices or to mark a boundary by walking along it. References to the line include: above the line, down the line, the end of the line, in line with, line of flight, line of thought, opening line, and of course, drawing the line. A line is a dash, rule, bar, score; underline, underscore, stroke, slash; technical stria, striation.
